Actors Who Played Multiple Characters on TV Shows

The shows that we love have one thing in common, they all have amazing actors in them! Not only that, but some of them play two, three or sometimes even four different characters throughout the series. So without any further explanation, here are some of our favourites:

Lisa Kudrow

Playing a twin must be difficult, but Lisa Kudrow made it look effortless when portraying both Phoebe and Ursula Buffay in 'Friends'. A lot of people don't know that Ursula was actually introduced before Phoebe as Kudrow played Ursula in TV show 'Mad About You'. Although both ditzy, Phoebe and Ursula are very different characters and yet are somehow portrayed in a way where we like both of them (even if Ursula can be a bit mean to Phoebe at times).

Paul Wesley

In a show where 'doppelgänger' is said in about every episode, you can't be surprised by the amount of twinning characters in 'The Vampire Diaries'. In the show, Stefan is the main character portrayed by Wesley, but as the seasons go on we find out that he is a doppelgänger of Silas and also has another called Tom. As I am personally more team Stefan than Damon, having more than one version of him definitely didn't hurt!

Nina Dobrev

Usually I try not to include the same TV show twice in these, however, you can't have Stefan's doppelgängers without Elena's. Although Elena is the main character of 'The Vampire Diaries', she is also the doppelgänger of Amara (the first one), Tatia (see 'The Originals') and Katherine (super evil basically the devil). Something that Nina Dobrev does so well, is that as a viewer, you really think of Elena and the rest of her doppelgängers as different people, even though they are portrayed by the same actress.

Troian Bellisario

'Pretty Little Liars'' ending was definitely received in a mixed way by fans as it was revealed in the season finale that Spencer's twin, Alex, was 'A'. The decision to introduce Spencer's twin into the show was apparently thought of while the show was in its fifth season. Even though her English accent wasn't perfect, having Alex as the last 'A' was a great way of seeing Bellisario as a different character and she certainly did it justice.

James Marsden

'Dead to me' is a TV show I stumbled upon pretty randomly, but it is actually so good! Marden portrays character Steve in the show's first season who is nasty and controlling to everyone he meets (basically, you hate him). Without giving anything away, in season 2, his twin brother Ben shows up who is kind and just a joy to be around (basically, you love him, at least for a while....).
