As it's been a while since we've seen any kind of red carpet, that means that we haven't seen any red carpet outfits. While we love any event that means we get to see our favourite celebrities, if we're being honest, the fashion is why we watch!
As someone who has just finished watching Lady Gaga in American Horror Story, it's safe to say she's got my attention again. In 2010, Lady Gaga wore this Armani Prive dress to the Grammy Awards and even though it's an unusual dress, it can't help but captivate us. Considering this was her Grammy's debut, it's no wonder her style became not only more out-there, but more fabulous!
All of a sudden, Lupita Nyong'o became a fashion inspiration before our eyes. At the 2014 Oscars, Lupita arrived in this gorgeous Prada dress that she said reminded her of Nairobi. Besides the fact that she wore this stunning gown, she also won for Best Supporting Actress for her amazing performance in '12 Years a Slave'. Winning her first Oscar and slaying on the red carpet, an iconic night.
I remember when I first saw this dress, and I thought 'yep this is one of the most beautiful looks I've ever seen'. In an outfit that can be seen to be inspired by 'Beauty and the Beast', Alicia stunned in Louis Vuitton at the 2016 Oscars. It was her first nomination and win for her role in 'The Danish Girl' which won her Best Supporting Actress. A fairytale inspired look that we'll never forget.
A regal dress for a gorgeous woman, Cynthia Erivo dazzled us in Versace at the 2020 Oscars where she debuted as a two time nominee for her role in 'Harriet' and for Best Original Song 'Stand Up'. She may not have won the Oscars, but she won our hearts with her incredible performance. This beautiful Versace dress in not something to be missed.
Carrying on with the 2020 Oscars, Kim Kardashian wore Alexander McQueen for the after party in a ruffled cream coloured gown. The look definitely put her on the best dressed list and if I'm being honest, is one of my favourite looks she has ever worn. The understated colour gives the vintage design it's own moment to shine and suits Kim perfectly.
