This Friday is all about the wonderful earth signs Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn! Today we will be exploring what symbols are associated with them and why they have been chosen. Taurus' symbol is the face and horns of a bull, Virgo's symbol is the maiden/virgin, and Capricorn's symbol is the body and head of a goat with the tail of a fish.
Taurus - The Bull
The bull is a symbol of strength, tenacity and power. If left alone to do what it likes, it is very happy to wonder around, but if disturbed, it will charge! Taurus is just like this, as they are calm and peaceful people, but when someone makes them angry, they have a terrifying temper. Taurus are strong people who can often be 'bull-headed'. They are incredibly determined when they have a goal in mind.
Virgo - The Virgin
Virgo is typically symbolised by the virgin, or a woman carrying a sheaf of wheat (showing wisdom), which would be done during harvesting (late summer). Virgo is also symbolised by three ears of corn. Virgo is mutable. The same as Gemini, Sagittarius and Pisces. They each have a different element, but share the same mode. Mutable signs are adaptable and flexible.
Capricorn - The Sea-Goat
There are many different stories associated with why Capricorn is symbolised by the sea-goat. There are also quite a few ways to draw the Capricorn symbol! It is said that the circle within the loop of the Capricorn symbol represents the spirit. This shows the true nature of a Capricorn, something that they are not afraid to hide, even if it sometimes scares them.
