For years now, natural hasn't really been the norm. If you look on Instagram you will almost definitely see tons of makeup being worn and filters everywhere. So now, with no places to go, we are all learning how to live a natural lifestyle again. It can feel odd not getting dressed up and hardly wearing any makeup, but now is the best time to embrace it.
Care For Your Skin
Most definitely, caring for your skin is something to always do, but at the moment when wearing makeup is much less likely, there has never been a greater time to do more for your skin. Exfoliate, moisturise, anything to make you feel more confident in your own skin and give you more of a natural feel. Always remember though to look after your skin based on the type that you have.
Shower Every Day
I know, I know, this is an obvious piece of advice, but at a time when most people's motto's are 'what's the point?', it's always good to be reminded. Washing every day keeps you feeling fresh and makes you have a structure to your day. You don't have to wash your hair every time, but having a nice shower daily will help get you ready for whatever it is you have to do.
For those out there missing the glow of foundation, there is a great simple substitute to use instead, tinted moisturiser. It will hydrate your skin while also giving you that sun-kissed look. Just make sure to try and match the moisturiser to the shade of your face. Using tinted moisturiser will give you that look you want while still letting your skin breathe.
Cut Back On Concealer
It's not unusual to break out at this time, especially with the stress we are all under, so it can be easy to reach for the concealer, but for now, maybe try and cut back. First of all, there aren't really many people to see, and second, cutting out the oils that are clogging your pores is going to help get rid of those pesky spots. Having a few blemishes at the moment is fine, and really there is no need to cover them.
If you think about being natural, you think about being your natural self, and the best most important part of embracing all things natural, is to embrace yourself. So what if your hair is kinda frizzy today, and who cares about that spot you were so embarrassed about? One things to take away from this whole experience is to realise that our natural selves are not so bad!
