We've all had simple questions pop into our heads at the moment; 'what should I wear?', 'what should I eat?', 'what should I do?'. However, the real question we are thinking is 'what is the point?'. It's tough to remember the point sometimes but no matter what there is always one to think about.
Set Your Time
One of the many reasons it's been difficult to get out of bed in the morning for some is because there is no schedule to their day. Even for those who don't like to plan their days, there is still a slight structure we all learn to follow. Setting a time to do something as big or small as you like can help to create a purpose to the day. So, whether you know you are going to workout at 10am, or start cooking at 7pm, having a set time can help separate the days.
Let's go back to that 'what's the point?' question for a second, because if you are not happy about what you are doing, than really...what is the point? Finding something to get you excited for the day is a skill that will not only help at the moment, but will help for life. Anything to bring joy at the moment is amazing, even if it is just watching a TV show you love (thank God for Netflix)!
The Bad Stuff
Counterpoint to the above section, even now, alone at home, there are still boring chores we have to do, and trying to get excited about them is a challenging task. How I like to motivate myself to do them, is to think about the feeling afterwards. It's like your mind is rewarding you for doing something you had to do but didn't want to.
Do Not Wait
This is an odd lesson I've had to learn over the years. Sometimes we find something that we really want to do, but think it will be way more exciting if we wait, it will not. Chances are in the time you've been waiting, you'll have found something else to do. So, basically, if you want to do something, in the words of Nike, just do it.
I was watching an episode of The Flash a few days ago (which is such a great show FYI), and heard this quote, 'Pessimism isn't smarter than optimism. In this life, the bravest thing you can be is optimistic'. It really stuck with me because of how true it is, especially at the moment. It's not easy, but choosing to be happy is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself and will help you forever.
