Top Christmas Songs

As soon as December arrives, it is time for all things Christmas and the first thing I always start with are the songs. Everyone has their favourite, but today I wanted to share with you the Christmas songs that really get you in the mood for all things festive!

'All I Want For Christmas Is You' - Mariah Carey

Of course this song was going to be first. The Christmas song that everyone knows and loves. On every MTV 'Best Christmas songs' list, this is almost always the number one and you would be lying if you said you hadn't tried to belt out that top note at the end! Even if this is just your guilty pleasure Christmas song, there is no shame in listening to it on repeat for the whole of December (at least that's what I tell myself).

'Happy Xmas (War Is Over)' - John Lennon and Yoko Ono

With so many covers of this amazing Christmas song, you can still never beat the original. Released in 1972, this political song is now a Christmas staple every year. In contrast to many other Christmas songs, it really makes you think about life and the meaning of Christmas. Christmas isn't all about getting presents and eating too much food, we all need to take care of one another and be kind.

'One More Sleep' - Leona Lewis

Now for a slightly more modern Christmas song, 'One More Sleep' is one of those Christmas songs that I forget about every year but suddenly remember on December 1st! Known for winning The X Factor in series 3, Leona Lewis' Christmas song is one that everyone should know. The countdown till Christmas Day feels so realistic as the run up to it feels like it takes forever!

'It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas' - Michael Bublé

A Christmas song that has been covered by countless people, however, the Michael Bublé version is definitely the best. This song is full of Christmas cheer and makes anyone who listens to it happy. Mariah is the Queen of Christmas, but Michael Bublé is surely the King! This is the perfect song to sing at the beginning of the month, since as soon as it hits December 1st, it really is beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

'Underneath The Tree' - Kelly Clarkson

Since its release in 2013, 'Underneath The Tree' has been played everywhere, every Christmas, yet it doesn't quite get the respect it deserves. Christmas is great, but it really doesn't mean anything unless you are surrounded by people you love. This is the kind of song that you can sing as loud as possible and dance around like a crazy elf! Have fun and a magical Christmas.
